- Always
buy a tip with a larger diameter than your
ferrule.
- First
cut off the old tip with a sharp blade.
- sand
off any excess off the tip of the cue so it's
flush with the ferrule, with 60 grit sandpaper.
- gently
sand the bottom of the tip with sandpaper until
slightly rough.
- Apply
a light coat of tip adhesive to both tip and
tip of the cue.
- Gently
center the tip on the tip of the cue and hold
it for a few seconds.
- Wipe
off any excess adhesive off the cue and ferrule.
- When
the adhesive has set (depending on adhesive
instructions) file or sand the tip to your
desired shape.
- Use
a tip shaper or fine sandpaper when finishing
the shaping.

Softer
tips tend to lose their shape more often than hard
tips, but the more often you shape
the tip, the more frequent the tip will need replacing.
Replace the tip as often required and do not let curvature
get down to the ferrule as this would cause damage
to the ferrule.
